The Department of Accounting and Finance, established in 2016, welcomed its first students in the 2018-2019 academic year. The department aims to train qualified accounting and finance professionals, which are essential for businesses. To achieve this goal, the department strives to enhance the professional competencies of students through both theoretical and practical education in the fields of accounting and finance. Besides accounting and finance, the department's primary objective is to create graduates who possess the knowledge and skills required to succeed in today's business world.
Our department is focused on preparing students for careers primarily as Certified Public Accountants (CPA) and CPA Auditor. To increase their competence in these fields, we have developed an intensive accounting curriculum to help students transition seamlessly into the professional world. One of our primary objectives is to ensure that our graduates have the necessary foundation to succeed in the CPA and CPA Auditor exams conducted by TURMOB (Union of Chambers of Certified Public Accountants of Turkey).
The financial markets in our country are growing rapidly, leading to an increasing need for qualified personnel in this area. As financial management becomes more critical for businesses, the need for competent personnel who can work in this field has become more prominent. To meet this need, our department aims to provide education that equips students with the skills to understand the workings of financial markets, manage portfolios, and structure, manage, and analyze the financial processes of businesses. Our primary goal in this regard is to ensure that our students are prepared to pass the Capital Markets Activities Level 1 License (SPL1) when they graduate.
Additionally, starting from the 2024-2025 Fall Semester, Accounting and Finance Management students will have the opportunity to pursue a minor degree in the Department of Customs Management.
